Sarah Elizabeth Borst is an internationally exhibited feminist artist working in the mediums of photography, film, installation and performance art.  She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Savannah College of Art and Design, and her Master of Fine Arts in Experimental and Documentary Arts from Duke University.  In addition to her credits as an artist, she served as the head curator for the Provost's Gallery at Duke University under the Provost, Sally Kornbluth, as well as the assistant to the Director of the Center for Documentary Studies, Wesley Hogan.  Borst has a deep passion for art education, and while at Duke earning her MFA she worked intimately with students as a teaching assistant to photographer Alex Harris, aiding in the development and production of their own photographic series. For the last three years, Borst has been a member of the editorial team for Aint-Bad Magazine, supporting the work of her peers through online web features, printed periodicals, monographs, and exhibitions.  Illuminating the sexualization of the female body, and all of the implications that those projections hold, Borst's work contributes to contemporary dialogues in a partial, but very human way.  It presents pain and honesty as brave, open-ended challenges.  It is messy.  It is unresolved, and as such it creates room for a new model.
